Nonjudgmentally
Notice without labelling experiences as good or bad.
Purpose
Helps reduce emotional intensity by separating facts from judgments.
How to use it
1
Notice the judgment
Catch words like bad, stupid, lazy, pathetic, unfair, or should.
2
Replace judgment with facts
Describe what happened without adding labels.
3
Acknowledge consequences
You can still recognise that something is painful or harmful.
4
Return to what works
Focus on the next effective action.
Example
Instead of saying, "I am lazy," say, "I have not started the task yet."
